Do you have guests visiting from far away places for your wedding or conference being held on the Sunshine Coast?
There are so many wonderful places on the Sunshine Coast to keep them entertained in between all your planned festivities! It was hard to narrow it down to just five natural beauties, but here we go.Gardner’s Falls
Gardner’s Falls
Obi Lane, Maleny QLD 4552
There are just so many things to love about these flowing fresh waterfalls up in the lush hinterland. Walking the short distance from the car park, the easily accessible path leads you down the Obi Obi River to open out to a large, sloping grassed area dotted with a few picnic tables. The top area of the waterfall is safe and shallow, perfect for little ones, or even big ones who just like to feel like they are sitting in a cool water spa bath! Walking just a moment further down stream, you will find a stunning waterfall cascading into a deep water hole. Ropes have been hung for amusement and the adrenaline seeking, allowing for a few different levels of bravery.
Noosa National Park
Park Road, Noosa QLD 4566
Driving east along the famed Hastings Street, you will enter Park Road, which will provide the entrée to what is the delicious Noosa National Park. If you would like to leave your car at the start of Park Road, you can meander along the shaded boardwalk past Little Cove, a sheltered beach popular with swimmers and boarders alike. Coming up into the park itself you will not know where to rest your eyes. In the trees for some koala spotting, on the keen surfers at Tea Tree Bay who are riding the consistently fantastic waves or on the people from all over the world getting their exercise on in paradise rather than the gym. Most people make the trek up to Hell’s Gates (to sit at watch the dolphins play) and then walk back the way they came. You could continue along the path, either going all the way past Alexandra Bay (A-Bay) to Sunshine Beach or coming back through one of the internal marked paths. Just allow yourself a good amount of time to soak up the ambience of this little slice of heaven!
Kings Beach
Ormond Terrace Kings Beach 4551
Looking for one place that has it all? Kings Beach has you covered. Natural formations of rock pools on the beach just waiting to be discovered, water jets to jump and squeal upon as they shoot up into the sky and a sea pool that creates the ultimate safe haven for protected beach swimming. There is a plethora of choice for the little ones, whilst the adults will be thoroughly entertained with the easy walking paths, gentle ocean break or just sitting back and watching the world go by at many of the cafes and restaurants on offer.
Mount Coolum
Cnr of Tanah Street West & Jarnahill Drive , Mt Coolum, QLD 4573
Time to get your heart racing. Not for the faint of heart, this staircase track up the side of our very own volcanic dome, is a great spot of exercise with one of the most rewarding conclusions – beside all those calories burned ? Just look at that view! This walk takes approximately 40 minutes up and back, moving at a good pace. Or, more like an hour and a half if you have little legs lagging behind you. This track is quite the favourite amongst families and you will almost certainly find at least one or two little ones along the trek. From the summit you can see all the way from the Noosa North Shore down past Caloundra and over the cane fields of the Maroochy River to the hinterland providing some of the most stunning sunsets known to man.
Point Cartwright
Pacific Boulevard Buddina 4575
Located between the best of both worlds, Point Cartwright is an active lighthouse positioned between epic surf of Kawana Beach and the majestic, flowing Mooloolah River. It is a lovely spot for family picnics with La Balsa Park to the left of the lighthouse providing entertainment for the children. Another insider tip on a humid day, is to walk from the car park at the top of Point Cartwright, through the rainforest feel path and watch the butterflies playfully congregate in the air just above your head.
PS It is also a stunning spot for us to set up a wedding ceremony, if we do say so ourselves!
