Mother nature looked after us on the weekend without a drop of rain for our sensational seaside community event down in Newport, Brisbane.
Seaside Bounty
Of course everyone knows the way to keep a crowd happy is to keep them well fed. Let’s just say that we had the happiest guests on earth at our Newport event. We produced culinary delights to please the whole family. Puerto Taco were on board with their sustainable food van, serving up fish tacos and calamari. And of course you can’t have seafood without hot chips! Luckily Mr Super Soft brought both his chip van and his ice cream truck to keep all the children delighted. Not a fan of seafood by the seaside? That was fine because the PCYC gentlemen were there doing a fine job, as usual, pleasing the crowds for a fantastic cause.
Surf’s up and it’s time to play at the bottom of the ocean
What is a community event without providing plenty of fun for both young and old? We had a wide range of activities to please every (inner) child. For those interested in raising their heart rate a little we provided a surf board simulator and a range of creatures from the sea to play with.
The big wave rider was a huge hit with the whole family – children laughing and encouraging their parents to get on and have a ride, everyone taking epic dives off the board when the waves got too rough.
And if playing on top of the waves wasn’t quite your style we provided the cutest and slimiest and spikiest sea life to touch, play with and learn from – oh the new things I learnt! And how cute is Chip, the resident turtle who doesn’t mind a cuddle.
Time to express your artistic side, jellyfish style
We, at Mask Events, like to ensure that all entertainment tastes are covered at our events. Want to spend the day doing something a little more low key? We have you covered with a range of craft activities. From the dozens of bright and colourful creations on offer from Sand Wizard, to the craft table where our staff were on hand to perform a little jellyfish tutorial, and the stunning creations that The Face Painting People created on the faces, hands and arms of our littlest guests.
Chill out with some laid back, beach vibes
You can’t create a fantastic community event by the seaside without a soundtrack to match. We had musical stylings from three separate performance groups. The day was off to the roaring start with the beat making workshop provided by The Off Beat, which was an inclusive session for the entire family.
Johanna and Jayden provided sweet melodies that drifted across the water, enticing more families to join our party. And everyone at the event got to experience the roaming classic tunes of Gypsy Loco as they weaved through the crowds showing their many instrumental skills including a baby mega phone.
