Fairy lights sparkled in the trees and tiki torches lined the paths, creating a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of long, luxurious beach side evenings. The secluded property couldn’t have been more perfect for this event.
Chill out session
Pillar candles and lantern light glowed dreamily throughout the Ibiza inspired white décor, lighting up the warm, summery night. Guests relaxed in the sumptuous lounge areas, enjoying the great company and watching the slideshow of photos from the last 50 years that played continually throughout the evening on a blow up screen. Chatter and laughter floating through the cruisey Café Del Mar style club sounds, brilliantly curated by the amazing DJ.
We scoured far and wide to find the perfect DJ for this self-proclaimed music lover, and wow did he deliver! The music really complemented the theme, as well as providing the occasional floorfiller track to get guests on the dancefloor, busting out their best moves to some great daggy classics.
Dancing with a drink in my hand
These dance moves were, no doubt, improved by the full bar set up (complete with skilled bartenders) that we’d organised. Guests took full advantage of the Midori Splice signature cocktail, and at times the dancefloor was a sea of vibrantly dressed beauties giggling up a storm. The lovely Kate made sure her guests were looked after though, gifting a Hangover Kit to everyone to thank them for celebrating her 50th birthday party with her.
Asian flavours for days
One of our most loved caterers treated Kate and her guests to a unique menu, inspired by Kate’s love of Asian food. We worked with the awesome chefs to incorporate the Asian twist for Kate, and can we just say, the Wagyu beef wontons with sweet soy and chilli paste were simply phenomenal! These guys are masters of menu creation. We so adore working with caterers and other providers who so seamlessly customise their offering to suit the individual tastes and loves of our clients.
Every last detail covered
It was an absolute delight to play an onsite coordinator role for this event. Apart from giving us the opportunity to enjoy such a stunning property and wonderful people (as we stayed all night to ensure everything ran perfectly), we also got to work with the client to brainstorm the entire concept. It was so much fun putting together such a joyful theme, including sourcing the perfect suppliers to make sure every little detail matched Kate’s vision for her evening. Being onsite from setup until the end of the night also means we can think of absolutely everything, right down to keeping the summer night bugs away!
When the most challenging task of an event is carrying the epic three tiered cake down the flight of stairs, we’re pretty confident we can call it a success ☺ A much deserved celebration for the family and friends of this beautiful client.
