The theme was Harry Potter and the only brief was magical. Our styling team worked tirelessly to make sure this was everything our client dreamed of. We even managed to find a castle on the Sunshine Coast fit for a witch and her friends.
It was as if guests had just stepped off the Hogwarts express, arriving on the doorstep of Bli Bli Castle. Our team made sure every corner of the castle looked like you had just stepped into the movie. The infamous sorting hat was even in attendance with guests trying on the headpiece to assist in determining their designated houses.
Although, most guests didn’t need to be told as they came fully dressed in full costume. They would have put the real-life actors to shame, everyone looked fantastic. The party had all characters from Bellatrix Lestrange to Harry Potter himself. We may be biased, but our birthday girl was by far the best dressed as Luna Lovegood.
If there was ever a time to hire an owl, this was it. So, that’s what we did. Mask Event’s organised an awesome owl experience. It seemed appropriate and we can not explain how well received it was. The guests all agreed it was their favourite part of the evening and the Owl really sold the Hogwarts dream.
Combined with the themed cake, bar and finishing touches, Mask definitely created an event that fit the bill. Our client was delighted by the final product and didn’t want to ever leave the enchanting castle. And if you don’t believe us, here’s our client’s testimonial.
The party was absolutely magical, I couldn’t have asked for anything more! The venue looked amazing with all the lights and props, we really felt like we were at Hogwarts. The food was so delicious, I had so many comments on how surprisingly tasty it was (and generous, I think they stopped bringing out food because there was too much!).
I was really happy with the photographer too – he was so sporting and made the no-flash work and we loved doing “in character” photos. The highlight was definitely the owls though! I ended up getting about half an hour on my own doing flying tricks with the first owl which was awesome, and the handler was really great with everyone – he was really knowledgeable and made people who wanted to conquer their bird phobias really at ease. It really was a perfect touch – thank you so much for suggesting it!!
