Friday 13th ghoulish birthday party complete with zombies doing a flash mob dance, fire performance, face painter, canapes, caravan bar, pizza, ice cream, cake and a four piece band to get the dance floor pumping!
When we were called in to plan Grace’s birthday party, we were thrilled to discover the event would take place on Friday 13th. Of course, we couldn’t go past the fun of a Friday 13th themed party! Especially since Grace’s special guests would be her grandchildren 😊
Grace didn’t want too much of a fuss, she just wanted to enjoy herself with friends, family and all her grandchildren.
In fact, her only request was a face painter, and for the kids to have fun in the pool all night.
Well, we delivered on the face painter, and what a hit that was! We still haven’t figured out how to control the weather (though we do a good job of managing it) so when it turned cold on the day, the pool plan went out the window.
Which turned out to be a great thing, as the kids got to keep the face paint on for the whole event!
Of course, we went to town with the creepy Halloween styling. The event area was set up with skulls, candles dripping with (fake) blood, cobwebs and smoking cauldrons.
We set up a caravan bar to serve a variety of drinks, including a smoking blood red cocktail created with dry ice and topped with a spooky eyeball.
There was an abundance of food (not all as creepy as eyeball cocktails). Guests were treated to gourmet canapes, a van serving delicious pizzas for dinner, and soft serve for dessert (can you tell Grace really loves her grandkids?).
We arranged an incredible black cake for Grace to cut as her friends and family sang their birthday wishes.
A four-piece band got the dance floor shaking, and a Day of the Dead fire twirling show amazed Grace and her guests.
We always have a little surprise up our sleeves to delight the guests. For Grace’s Friday 13th birthday party, we had a zombie flash mob break out into the Thriller dance. This was after everyone was suitably terrified when the zombies came stomping and falling through the party!
Grace and her guests had the time of their lives. The Mask team managed the whole event until the last supplier left, making sure Grace and her family could just sit back and enjoy the celebrations.
We don’t think they’ll be forgetting eyeball cocktails and zombie flash mobs anytime soon 😉
