Christmas can be an amazing time of year. Everyone is in the festive mood and for a short period of time, the closet decorators come out.
You know who you are ? All year round you think very little of how better to make that room look. You scoff at how early the Easter eggs and are out and don’t even get you started on Halloween!
Oh, but when it comes to Christmas…………..Here are our 5 hot tips to decorating at Christmas time. We hope you enjoy the festive season!

Number 1 – Plan, Plan, Plan
The difference between a gorgeous styled area, and one that looks like the kids have hijacked it, is the planning. Decide on style and the colours you want to work with up front. Whether it’s a tree or the house, an upfront theme will have your guest and neighbours asking, “Who did you hire?”
Number 2 – Decorating is seasonal
Try searching the internet and magazines for new ideas. Get inspired with what is hot right now. To really stand out in a busy street, or wow your guests, being on trend often sets you apart. It is also very flattering when the Jones’ are always a year behind.

Number 3 – Play to your strengths
If traipsing up and down a ladder is not your cup of tea, or if the bows that you tie look more like boy scout knots, then don’t do them. Work out what you can do and do it well. This doesn’t mean your limited in your design options (upfront – remember Number 1), it just mean number 4 is for you.
Number 4 – Team Work
Ask for help. Get like minded people to work with you. You will have more fun too, discussing all the important bits, and working with people who have strengths that differ from your own. It can be a great way to learn for next year.

Number 5 – Remember Why – for the fun of it of course!!
Sometime the extreme pressure of getting that star on top of the tree can get the better of you. Just remember, its all about the joy of the season, the celebration of the end of year event. Just have fun.
