When Brisbane’s fashion and lifestyle hub does a fashion event, they do it in immaculate style.
Four full days of education and eye-catching delights in all things fashion and beauty. Champagne, canapes and catwalk flowing in abundance… Have we told you how much we love our job?
Mask Events had the pleasure of looking after the Indooroopilly SC shoppers as they took a well-deserved break from walking the treasure-filled centre. Guests were treated to champagne and sweet and savoury nibbles as they learned about the latest fashion trends, indulged in mini-makeovers, watched on-stage hair and makeup transformations, and, our favourite, heard some hot tips for styling the coming season.
We set the scene by styling the space as a Spring garden party. Lots of crisp, white furniture on AstroTurf, an ivy stage backdrop, florals in rich purples, reds and gold for a touch of luxury. And, of course, fresh, delicious flowers popping those warm, deep hues throughout the event space.
Cate Massi, Indooroopilly SC’s incredible in-house personal stylist, expertly and vibrantly lit up the main stage. Guests enjoyed a taste of a personal shopping experience with Cate, as she showed us how to style various outfits and accessories from the participating retailers. The amazing models managed endless gruelling outfit changes (assisted by the Mask team) as Cate and her guest stylists showcased and discussed their unique ideas for each look.
Leading experts in fashion, skincare, makeup and hair took questions from the audience on how to style for different bodies, face shapes, skin tones and hair types.
We wanted shoppers to feel yum whilst they were learning, so we set up complimentary pamper stations on either side of the stage. Makeup artists and hair stylists from the Centre gifted shoppers with makeovers and tips and tricks specific to their desired look.
A four-day event like this has a lot of moving parts, so Indooroopilly SC brought us on to ensure everything flowed smoothly and efficiently to maintain the focus on the shopper experience.
We managed the run sheet and ensured all guest stylists, models, caterers and wait-staff were on time and on purpose. We assisted with MC duties on stage when Cate needed a break (and managed to tame the overwhelming urge to bust out some Whitney Houston when we got a hold of the mic).
Our team expertly multi-tasked, managing all audio-visual requirements throughout the event, as well as getting out and about to encourage shoppers to come and join us for the next show and a cheeky glass of bubbles. These guests were signed into the event via iPad with one of our team, creating a valuable database for the Centre and its retailers.
Mask Events engaged important suppliers such as caterers and wait staff, also conducting risk assessments and covering health and safety requirements for all suppliers.
Grateful to our clever team for coordinating, styling and managing such a wonderful event, and super grateful to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre for giving their shoppers such a fun, luxurious and educational pampering experience.
