The Sunshine Coast’s biggest social and sporting event of the year is right around the corner! We’re as excited as the next punter for the Scott McMahon Electrical Caloundra Cup Day on Saturday 30th June.
We were just as thrilled to be there when Scott McMahon Electrical won the naming rights to the Sunshine Coast Turf Club’s $175,000 Caloundra Cup for 2018.
Mask Events had an absolute ball coordinating and styling the 100 Club Gala Dinner on Friday 9th March, where 100 businesses came together to support the Sunshine Coast Turf Club. The chance to win race sponsorship prizes may have added to the thrill a little ?
Havana Nights
Celebrating an iconic Sunshine Coast event, of course we went with a tropical, coast inspired theme. We were blessed with a warm balmy evening, perfectly reminiscent of Havana Nights.
Red Carpet Arrivals
Guests stepped out of the car and onto the red carpet, greeted by a custom made 100 Club sign. Tropical arrangements adorned the registration table, the first and last stop before pre-dinner drinks. A glimpse of what was to come!
Bottoms Up!
Samba dancers shook their groove thang to live drumming beats, as guests from 100 Sunshine Coast businesses enjoyed a beverage or two amongst the tropical foliage.
An Entrance of Lush Abundance
Tropical jungle vibes welcomed guests to the marquee where all the action would happen. We may or may not have spotted a few punters reaching out for a lucky touch of the golden pineapples before the big draw ?
Lush arrangements of gold painted pineapples, ginger leaves and golden cane palms accompanied the bamboo tiki torches lighting the path to the marquee.
An archway entry, abundant in tropical foliage and delicious green Singapore orchids, opened into the beautifully appointed dining hall of the marquee. White Singapore orchids and deep green foliage adorned the welcome sign as guests made their way to their tables.
The marquee was lined with our newly purchased vintage Edison bulb festoon lighting. An ivy wall stage backdrop, crowned with a balloon garland of white and gold confetti, added textural interest to the soft lighting throughout the dining marquee.
Keep it on Ice
When an ice bucket is needed in the centre of the table (because champagne), we love to make it part of the centrepiece. Our Havana Nights centrepieces lay fresh tropical foliage and white orchids, entwined with twinkly fairy lights and custom-made gold washi tape tealight votives. Combined with the golden sashes on the chairs the decor spoke of the abundance and enjoyment in store for the 2018 Caloundra Cup.
A spectacular Gala Dinner to set the stage for the most exciting social and sporting event on the Sunshine Coast – we were honoured to be a part of it. Odds-on we’ll be seeing you on Saturday for champagne and a wager. We’ll bring the lucky golden pineapple ?
